Description:
From the mountain hut of Madone de Fenestre (1905 m), go towards the church. To its right (beacon 357), follow the markings of the GR 52 mule track that lowers East towards the cow shed of la Madone.
At the beacon 359 remain on the red and white markings till beacon 367 (1890 m) where we leave this signposting. Then take yellow marking pathway that rises Southeast on right river bank of the valley of Ponset.
On a grassy flat land, at the end of a marshy area, leave the marking to take a clearly visible path with cairns on the left, that rises Northeast. Cross the glacial lock and continue climbing on the depression to the altitude of 2500 meters.
There, on a steep grassy-pebbly slope, the direction changes towards the North to go up by zigzags. You will reach the Northern and Western summits of Mount Ponset (2828 m) after a progression on the narrow summit ridgeline.
The return to the mountain hut of Madone de Fenestre takes place via the reverse route.
