Requires map and compass, or GPS. Please note that this route will have some passages of scree, and is quite steep till you reach the summit. Description: From the mountain hut of Gialorgues (2280 m), head West and climb the best you can in the alpine pastures, off the signposted pathway, to pass to the north of the lower lake of Gialorgues. Continue West up the ascent to a second lake and then go north by the larger lake of Gialorgues where there is a tiny pathway that will allow you to easily reach the mountain pass of la Roche Trouée (2583 m), noticeable by geological characteristic. From the pass, go South off the pathway, along the ridgeline. Then, about 2600 meters, turn a little towards the right into a rather challenging scree by keeping a mountain pass as your target (unnamed on the IGN, map point 2693 m). From where, by the ridge on the left, you will reach the summit of Gialorgues (2761m ). Via the same path, return to the mountain pass and descend South on a steep slope towards the large lake of Estrop. Then go West to go to the small homonymous lake where you will find the pathway leading to the mountain pass of Gialorgues (2519 m-beacon.279) From there, by the signposted pathway which descends to the left, return to the mountain hut of Gialorgues (refuge de Gialorgues).
