Duration:03h30 Dénivelé positif en été:450 m Dénivelé négatif en été:450 m Distance en été:7.3 km Remarks: Description : From the mountain hut of Vens (2380 m), go to beacon 25 and follow the signposted pathway to the left. Turn right at beacon 24 and climb up into large zigzags in a hard chalky patch of land with bold architecture till the mountain pass of Tortisse (Collet de Tortisse, 2591 m-beacon 35a) From there, turn West by a small path on the left to reach the base of the "Aiguilles de Tortisse" (2672 m), forming a panoramic promontory on the lakes of Vens. Return to the mountain pass of Tortisse (beacon 35a) and head North to the pass of Fer (Col du Fer, 2584 m-beacon 35). Follow the signposts on the left to descend towards the forest house of Tortisse (Maison Forestière de Tortisse). At the beacon 34 (2252 m), take the pathway to the left until the "Crête de la Côte". Continue in traverse almost at the same altitude to beacon 23 (2409 m). From this point, do not take the right path that goes down towards the lakes, but continue on the left overlooking the upper lake of Vens. Once you reach beacon 24, go down on your right towards the mountain hut of Vens (Refuge de Vens, beacon 25).
