Requires map and compass, or GPS. 2. Permanent snowfields. Requires adequate equipment. Please note that this route includes progression on scree slope and steep passages. Description: From the mountain hut of Rabuons (2523 m), head North to the beacon 105 and take the marked path on the right along the Western bank of the Rabuons lake. After the rain gauge (2530 m-beacon 106), leave the marking and follow Southeast the cairns that lead into a scree-filled mountain depression. At the confluence of two valleys, keep to the right and then continue South. Climb into the large depression of the Corborant glacier, between the head of Chalanchas and the Corborant, till a rock separating the latter into two V-necks. Take the right one to arrive at the Chalanchas mountain pass (Pas des Chalanchas-2919 m) by a steep slope. From there, by the ridge, reach the Eastern summit, from where, by the Northern side, you will reach the top of the head of Chalanchas (2995 m). The return to the mountain hut of Rabuons takes place via the reverse route.
