Description:
From the mountain hut of Cougourde (2100 m), turn east to cross the stream by the footbridge (beacon.426) and on the left, follow the tiny path with cairns that runs North through a zone of large blocks of stones to go to lake of Sagnes (2198 m).
You will come across a marshy plateau at the Northern end of the small lake, ignoring the path with cairns on the right that leads to the peak of Caire of Cougourde. Climb up Northwest on the left orographic riverbank of the mountain stream of the Vallette Escure to the map point 2431m. Staying on a path with cairns, climb Northeast on the valley from Lac Agnel, till you reach it (2645 m).
From there, go up East and then Northeast on scree and grassy rocks to bypass the bars of the Southern side of the peak of Agnel (2927 m) which is reached by its Eastern side.
The return to the mountain hut of Cougourde takes place via the reverse route.
