Mercantour Argentera - Refuge : mode d'emploi

Before leaving :

I will reserve : the reservation helps to reduce the risks of over-attendance. Please inform the hut manager in case of cancellation.

I will carry :
- My sleeping bag for hygiene purposes : dormitories are equipped with mattresses, pillows and blankets
- My headlamp if I have to get up at night
- My ear plugs
- And spare warm clothes

At the mountain hut :

I will take off my shoes : the shoes must be left in the premises provided for this purpose at the entrance of the refuge. Rubber clogs are available.
I will introduce myself to the hut manager
I will take note of the schedules fixed by the manager: meals, opening of the dormitories, extinction of the lights
I will turn off my phone for the peace of all, especially since I can not recharge it. The hut phone has priority for emergency calls. It is not for public use.
I will participate to lay and clear the table
I will systematically tidy up my sleeping arrangement
I will not throw anything in the toilet : at the hut, there is no connection to sewerage
I will leave with my garbage : in the mountain, garbage collectors do not come

The mountain huts have a small library and a few board games available to liven up your evening.

THE HUT MANAGER

The manager is the soul of the mountain hut. He is the one who manages and runs the house, which is a big deal

Up there, he is the cook, waiter, dish washer, accountant, ... at the same time. Furthermore he is always connected with the rescue services in the mountain.

But he is above all a mountain professional. He will inform you about the feasibility of your itinerary (possible snow cover, weather conditions). Do not take risks, first check with him!
